Just now I finished the upgrade to WordPress 3.6.1 (from old 2.3).
I did it manually as described at http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress in “Manual Upgrade” section

Today already the WP 3.7 is ready. But I didn’t install because do not want to update every few days:-).
